Country Charm With Artisan Tiles

This Coggeshall cottage bathroom was built around one tile — Ca' Pietra Wiltshire Hares by Joanna May. Hand-painted hares are scattered across the walls, mixed in with soft-toned Nuance ceramics to keep the room calm. A Roper Rhodes Concierge vanity in Coniston Blue sits under an HiB Bellus LED mirror, and a Carron Delta bath tucks behind a Crosswater folding screen. Every product was chosen at our showrooms and planned through our 3D design process before work started.

Concierge Vanity & Bellus Mirror

The full room — Coniston Blue Concierge vanity, HiB Bellus LED mirror, and Wiltshire Hares tiles reflected in the glass.

Wiltshire Hares Close-Up

Hand-painted Wiltshire Hares by Joanna May — sitting, sleeping, and boxing hares scattered across the soft Nuance ceramics.

Halcyon Basin Mixer Detail

Roper Rhodes Halcyon chrome basin mixer on the Academy basin — crystal knobs on the Coniston Blue drawers match the cottage feel.

Bath End & Corner Niches

The bath end — corner niches were carved from an awkward space that had no use before, now they hold everything you need.

Halcyon Shower Over Bath

Roper Rhodes Halcyon chrome shower with traditional rainfall head — the Wiltshire Hares tiles wrap right around the shower zone.

Shower Niches & Hares Tiles

Stacked shower niches tiled with Wiltshire Hares — a sleeping hare keeps watch over the bath salts.

WC & Rustic Airing Cupboard

Langford WC with chrome towel rail — the original airing cupboard was refaced with rustic pine doors and iron hinges to match the cottage.
"I am really pleased with my Bowmans experience. I had a very old, small and oddly shaped bathroom. Verity designed a bathroom based on my tastes and advised a completely different layout. Stephan and Jake did a wonderful job bringing Verity's lovely design to life, taking time to achieve a high-quality finish and hiding pipework. Throughout the process, Stephan and Jake addressed any concerns I had and provided different options. They were timely, efficient, and very tidy, cleaning up every evening. I'm really pleased with the end result, thank you."

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about cottage bathroom installations near Braintree

Wiltshire Hares is a hand-painted tile design by Ca' Pietra. Each tile shows a hare in soft, natural colours. In this cottage bathroom we used them as a feature strip around the room so the pattern adds character without taking over.
The Concierge is a painted vanity by Roper Rhodes. This one comes in Coniston Blue — a soft heritage colour that suits older cottage rooms. It has a wide basin on top and storage inside, which keeps the room tidy without needing a separate cabinet.
The original rustic wooden doors were in good shape and had real character, so we kept them. A bathroom refit does not have to change everything — keeping features that already work ties the new room to the rest of the cottage and saves money for the parts that matter most.
